Well actually the title should read FolderShare is DEAD long live Windows Live Sync.

I suppose it had to happen one day.

Foldershare has been a great product and its now getting very difficult to understand where it was going to sit within the Windows Live arena…but here is our answer.

• More folders and files—sync up to 20 folders with 20,000 files each.
• Integration with Windows Live ID—no more extra sign-in stuff to remember.
• Integration with the Recycle Bin—no more separate Trash folder to fiddle with.
• Unicode support—sync files in other languages

The only problem being is that the whole FolderShare system will not be migrated over to the new Windows Live Sync. So all of your libraries will have to migrated by hand.

This truly may be a world's first: a cable modem you don't feel incredibly pressured to relegate to the rear of your networking stash. Yes friends, that succulent device you see above is Virgin Media's shockingly stunning 50Mbps cable modem, which unsurprisingly relies on DOCSIS 3.0 technology in order to provide such 1337 speeds. It's still not as speedy as Ambit Broadband's channel bonding modem, nor can it hold a candle to whatever Sigbritt Löthberg had going on in Sweden, but 50Mbps isn't anything to sneeze at. No word on pricing just yet (don't worry, you'll pay it), but it should be available for UK-based speed freaks before the year's end.

One day later and Sony's battery recall has already tripled in size. What started as a recall of 35,000, just hit 100,000 (75,000 of which are HP related) and now includes Li-ion batteries used in some Acer laptops as well as the original list of Dells, HPs, and Toshibas. All the laptops were sold between 2004 and 2005, two-thirds of which were sold outside the US. What's most troubling is that Sony claims the faulty batteries are from the same unit that made the recalled batteries from 2 years ago.
So... Apple, you next?

Hold up just a second, this is more than your average WiFi-powered Skype handset for yakking it up while you're wandering around the abode in your skivvies. In fact, it's none other than the follow-on to 3's Skypephone of last year -- the aptly-named Skypephone S2 -- offering HSDPA data, a 3.2 megapixel camera, 50MB of memory with a microSD slot for plenty more, and pretty much all the Skype support you can handle (hence the name, we suppose). Skype-to-Skype calls are completely free from the phone, and the Skype service can be kept active by adding £10 (about $19) monthly on a pay-as-you-go arrangement; otherwise, the phone can be had for as little as zilch if you sign up for a monthly plan. It'll work as a broadband dongle, too, which we think officially makes this thing oodles more useful than even the most capable of WiFi phones, skivvies or otherwise.

Files on a home computer that are compressed by using NTFS compression may not be backed up correctly by Windows Home Server  On a home computer, you can compress some files by using NTFS compression through advanced attributes settings. In some cases, these files may not be backed up correctly by Windows Home Server.

A fix is available to address this issue.  Please read the KB article for more information and the link to the fix for your home computers that have the Windows Home Server Connector software installed
